Please view the Tentative Agreement that we will be voting on this Monday. Both the DFSE's Bargaining Team and the Executive Board are recommending that you vote YES and ratify this contract. Assuming it is ratified, the wage increases will begin on 9/1/23.
The vote will take place on Monday, July 31,2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the ASC (Ten Eyck) building in the boardroom. An informational meeting will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., however, you are not required to attend this meeting and may simply vote and leave. The meeting will simply be used to answer any questions or give clarification to the proposed agreement.
When you arrive, if you are not familiar with the building, please ask the receptionist for guidance on the proper location and she will help you. Voting will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. and will be by paper ballot. Please be sure to bring either your school ID or another form of picture ID. You must be a union member to vote and this Tentative Agreement has only been sent to union members who are in good standing. Once you have checked-in and verified your union membership, you will be given a ballot. If you are not sure whether you are a member in good standing, contact me at 313-407-9129 for verification. Again, you are not required to attend this meeting. You may vote and leave. Voting will end at exactly 5:00 p.m. and the counting of the ballots will begin. The counting will be done in front of the membership. Any member is free to attend the counting of the ballots to ensure total transparency.
